Analytical Specialist
Anderson Development Company is seeking an Analytical Specialist based out of our Adrian, Michigan facility. This position is responsible for utilizing various analytical chemistry techniques to support the Quality, Research & Development and Manufacturing teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -- Perform both routine and nonroutine laboratory equipment maintenance. -- Troubleshoot and solve equipment and method related issues. -- Maintain internal lab functions including ordering lab supplies and LIMS updates/programming. -- Perform instrument calibrations. -- Develop analytical methods to support existing and new business. -- Utilize tools such as equipment/method validations and Gage R&R's to evaluate analytical performance. -- Report findings of investigations and validations via written procedures and reports. -- Perform catalyst testing and reporting. -- Assist in QC coverage and training. -- Interact with internal groups, customers, suppliers, and vendors as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS -- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (this includes related areas such as Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic/Polymer Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry). -- Fundamental understanding of analytical instrumentation (GC, LC, GPC, FTIR, viscometers, extrusion plastometers and titrators) and experience of identifying and implementation of the appropriate analytical methods. -- Knowledge of a wide range of analytical techniques in support of our Quality, Manufacturing and R&D Departments. -- Demonstrated instrument troubleshooting and repair skills. -- Experience in statistics (SQC, SPC, Gage R&R, etc.) and method validation. -- Experience in developing and authoring procedures / reports for investigations, method development and gage R&R's. -- Experience in method development. -- Travel may be required on an infrequent basis.
