Position: Director of Facilities
Reports To: Superintendent or Designee
Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree or journeyman credentials in related trade or field . 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience (personnel and operations) and preferably in a school setting. Demonstrated knowledge in custodial operations and the maintenance areas of electricity, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and grounds. Ability to analytically evaluate the needs of the District's facilities and effectively assign and manage personnel and third party contractors accordingly. Be proficient in Microsoft products. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field. Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation or related.
Primary Function: Responsibility for all utility/maintenance personnel and District facilities/operations. Ability to establish and maintain an operating and capital outlay budget.
Duties, Responsibilities & Expectations Direct all custodial operations and projects including summer. Direct all skilled trades operations and projects. The overall personnel function, including but not limited to conducting job bids, the establishment of job qualifications and job duties. Maintain a working knowledge of the applicable collective bargaining agreements and otherwise foster a positive labor-management relationship. Conducting the hiring of, training, evaluation, discipline and effective utilization of all employees (including subs). Supervise and maintain appropriate records for payroll, overtime and vacation schedules. Management of a District-wide work order program and the prioritizing/implementation of of that function to address the day to day needs of the NOTICE OF VACANCY

The maintenance of all District buildings and grounds, security systems plus inventory of proper supplies and equipment for the custodial maintenance. Budgetary responsibility for the departments and personnel under his/her supervision. Maintain a Preventative Maintenance Program and periodic reports to the Superintendent or designee. Ability to work cooperatively with District Central Administration in the identification, assessment, planning, cost analysis, and the preparation of bid specifications for the Summer Project Program as well as working with outside contractors on day-to-day maintenance and building issues. Responsibility for District compliance with all Local, State and Federal Regulations that are related to the facilities, grounds, operations and personnel under his/her supervision; including but not limited to energy conservation, MIOSHA regulations, EPA regulations, fire codes, asbestos management, ADA regulations, Storm Water regulations, etc. 24 hour on-call responsibility for all District-wide building/operations problems, emergencies and snow removal plan. Report weather and school conditions for emergency school closing as directed by the Superintendent or designee. Perform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designee.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and climb bus steps. The employee is required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Frequent driving is necessary. Essential to this position, the individual must meet deadlines with severe time constraints, interaction with the public and other workers. The position requires the employee to work irregular or extended hours, direct responsibility for the safety, and well-being or work output of the other people and meet multiple demands.
Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) month, individual employment contract.
Minimum Salary: $60,000.00 plus competitive benefit package.
