Assistant Professor in Actuarial Science
The Department of Mathematics & Statistics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a start date of August 2025. This position will support the Actuarial Science program. Minimum Qualifications
· Doctoral degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field (e.g., Risk Management, Applied Statistics)
. ABD candidates are eligible to apply but must complete all doctoral degree requirements by the start date (August 2025).
· College-level teaching experience as a teaching assistant or instructor.
· Demonstrated scholarly work (viz., peer-reviewed journal publications, conference presentations, or dissertation work) in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or a related area (e.g., Risk Analysis, Risk and Insurance).
Preferred Qualifications
· Progress toward or attainment of professional actuarial credentials (e.g., ASA, ACAS, FSA, or FCAS).
· Experience as an instructor of record for Actuarial Science courses.
· Peer-reviewed publications in Actuarial Science, Risk Management, or a related area (e.g., Risk Analysis, Risk and Insurance).
· Experience seeking external research funding.
