Position Vacancy Announcement Accounting Administrator Design and Construction Position
Summary
The Accounting Administrator oversees the daily accounting of the Office of Design & Construction and while facilitating internal account transactions for various capital projects. This work will include purchase requests and requests for payments for contractors, vendors, and others. Additional responsibilities include preparing financial reports to ensure compliance in documentation and tracking of project financial records. This position requires strong communication skills to interact with project managers, A/E, contractors, University and State budgeting offices
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manages accounting, billing, procurement, FMS reconciliation, and assists with budgeting for University capital projects.
- Reviews incoming documents from consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors to ensure completeness and accuracy and/or compliance with required reporting policies and procedures, which requires frequent contact. Ensures compliance of all State and University rules, regulations, and laws.
- Works closely with project managers to ensure project funding availability via FMS, produce purchase requests, for Contract Cost Breakdown and Partial Pay Requests, Change orders, and Fee Amendments, and to process invoices from consultants, contractors and sub-contractors.
- Maintains statistical data on State-funded projects' advancement in order to process requests for State funding and reimbursement.
- Prepares reports and analysis on capital projects for senior leadership and State/other governmental entities requirements.
- Consistently evaluate, monitor and improve all processes to wring out inefficiencies, improve organization, increase speed and reduce paper.
- Provide assistance and leadership in developing and executing AE, CMR and CM Advisor contracts. This involves interaction with vendor to ensure timely receipt of proper deliverables and coordination with purchasing to facilitate prompt receipts of signatures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or General Management required.
- Successful candidate must have Bachelor's degree conferred at the time of application.
The following experience is required:
- 1-2 years' of accounting, finance, or business management experience - public or private industry.
Salary Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Grade Level 354. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.
