Admissions Counselor
Position Summary
Recruits prospective students to Bowling Green State University. Will use a territory management approach to build relationships with prospects and applicants to meet goals and objectives for territory. Will serve a territory of private high schools in and out of state. Use a data review approach to determine recruitment and outreach activities in assigned territory. Travels extensively in the fall and four weeks in the spring in an assigned territory. Conducts large and small group presentations and personal interviews with prospective students and parents. Reviews applications for admission and makes admission decisions. Manages communication/interactions with students using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
- Uses territory management approach to manage recruitment territory and meet enrollment goals
- Completes secondary School Visits
- Participates in College Fairs and on or off campus Recruitment Events
- Conducts group presentations
- Reviews Applications
- Coordinates and executes Admissions Programs in territory
- Reads and understands prospect and applicant data to drive recruitment decisions
- Makes phone calls, initiates and replies to emails, engages in social media and uses Office CRM
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Admissions experience preferred (either as a staff member or student tour guide or employee)
- Strong analytical skills to make recruitment decisions
- Ability to travel
- Work in a team environment
- Motivated and willing to make decisions that will positively affect recruitment
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required. Successful candidate must have Bachelor’s degree conferred by January 13, 2020. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with the university’s vehicle use policy.
The following experience is required:
- One year of experience including time as a student employee or tour guide
Salary
Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Grade Level 352. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.
