The Coordinator of Business Operations is responsible for supporting purchasing activity and monitoring, reporting, and accounting for the Schmidthorst College of Business. The position also helps support the budgeting and purchasing for the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Work with the Dean, A-Deans, Chairs & Directors and the College Budget Administrator to prepare contracts and other Faculty communication as necessary.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducts overall fiscal operations for the Schmidthorst College of Business Dean’s Office, Graduate and Professional Programs Office, and the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. Coordinates the budgets for these units and oversees departmental purchasing requests including FalconsPurch and credit card transactions.
  • Advises supervisor and Dean on fiscal/budgetary matters and applicable University policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and reports budget activities of the Graduate Programs in the collaborating units. Assists supervisor with faculty supplemental hiring including contract addenda and renewal. Monitors deadlines related to renewals and adjunct contracts.
  • Assists the Dean, the Director of the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, and students with Chrome River reimbursements for travel, meals, etc. Maintains inventory of promotional items and supplies for the Schmidthorst College of Business, the College’s Graduate and Professional Studies office (including all executive programs), and the Paul J. Hooker Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership.
  • Supervises Student Ambassador Schmidthorst Store. Works with students to track revenues and expenses as they relate to activities in the student run store.
  • Supports the planning, ordering, and running of events for the College.
  • Prepares initial responses to routine and non-routine inquiries from other University offices and for accreditation and ranking related surveys.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Business or related field preferred. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.

 

Experience Required:

  • 2 years of business experience

 

Experience Preferred:

  • 2 years of accounting experience

 

 

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

  • Well-versed in standard accounting practices including general ledger entry and budget reconciliation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel and Word
