Depository Manager
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Access Services, this position provides management and supervision of operations and personnel at the Northwest Ohio Regional Book Depository (NWORBD), a cooperative facility for the libraries of BGSU and the University of Toledo; coordinates the depository's participation in statewide initiatives involving OhioLINK and other Ohio depositories; communicates space availability to coordinate accession and deaccession of holdings; recommends and implements policies, procedures and services; performs a variety of duties in the circulation, processing, delivery, and deduplication of materials and documents to and from the depository.
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
- Participate in the day-to-day operations of the NWORBD and performs a variety of duties in the circulation, processing, delivery and deduplication of materials and documents to and from the NWORBD. Gather statistics and review current usage of the module to identify areas to reconfigure and/or space to reconfigure. Reconfigure shelving to maximize storage capacity Maintain the NWORBD or OHDEP databases using established standards agreed upon by the cooperating universities and OhioLINK
- Work with BGSU, UT, and Statewide collection managers to ensure the proper ingestion, circulation, and deaccession of materials. Participate in appropriate collection management activities with library staff at BGSU, University of Toledo (UT), and OhioLINK. Analyze holdings to facilitate institutional, depository and statewide resource sharing. Collaborate with statewide library depository coordinator and other depository managers in the development and implementation of statewide initiatives. Share those expectations through employee training and documentation
- Supervise 1 FTE including hiring, training, evaluation and prioritization of their duties. In the absence of the Senior Library Associate, supervises 10-20 student employees. In consultation with the Senior Library Associate creates and submits an annual student employee budget. May hire temporary staff to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Collaboratively develops annual goals for the unit and monitors progress towards meeting them. With Director of Access Services and staff of cooperating institutions formulate, recommend, implement, and evaluate NWORBD procedures, policies, services and technologies. Develop, measure, and report on progress of NWORBD goals and objectives. Prepare annual reports, strategic planning documents, equipment requests, student employee requests and other informational requests as requested
- Communicate information related to the NWORBD holdings, space, and purpose through established channels.? Host tours for interested parties.
- Work closely with University Libraries Budget Office, Manager of Programs and Facilities, and Information Technology staff to secure and maintain appropriate facilities, supplies, and equipment for the NWORBD. Creates capital requests for review based on Depository needs.
- Ensures the safe operation of the depository. Monitors building usage, security, safety, and equipment maintenance. In coordination with the Department of Environmental Health and Safety, provides training for use of the elevated platform equipment and other warehouse equipment.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Knowledge of computer software.
- Knowledge of library collection analysis
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a mobile lift at heights of 35 ft. and work in a low temperature/humidity environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Successful candidate must have Bachelor’s degree conferred at the time of application. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with the university’s vehicle use policy.
The following experience is required:
- 1-2 years management/supervisory experience
- 1-2 years of work experience in a library, archive, or warehouse setting
- 1-2 years of experience with databases or project management
Salary
Full-time, Administrative staff position available. Administrative Grade Level 355. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full benefit package available.
