Student Services Counselor
Position Summary:
Under administrative direction and general supervision, provides counseling and referral services for prospective and newly admitted students via telephone and email; Serves as primary processor of graduate applications and credentials. Works in conjunction with graduate departments to process applications and communicate to prospective students.
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Processes assigned graduate applications and documents, evaluates college transcripts, including GPA, determines accreditation status, and identifies dates of attendance and graduation dates.
• Counsels applicants regarding graduate admissions requirements and eligibility, missing application documents and test scores, and information regarding programs and services available at BGSU.
• Interacts with personnel in other campus offices, such as academic departments, Registration and Records, and International Student Services (ISS), to assist prospective graduate students through the admissions process.
• Coordinates application processes and workflow, maintains necessary confidentiality, and provides appropriate instruction and training for student support staff.
• Provide office support for admissions activities including but not limited to front desk staffing, phone coverage and on-campus event check-in as needed.
• Evaluates international credentials required for admission and advises prospective international students and applicants regarding graduate admissions requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to operate computers and peripheral equipment such as printers
• Ability to draft office correspondence
Minimum Qualifications
Experience
• Six months related experience
Education
• High school diploma or GED required.
Salary
Full-time, Classified staff position available. Pay Grade 25/$15.31. Full benefit package available.
