Assistant Teaching Professor--School of Media & Communication--Communication One faculty position (Qualified Rank Faculty) Basic Course Director for Communication 1020 (Introduction to Public Speaking), Communication Program, full-time, one-year nonrenewable contract. Competitive salary with full benefits.
Duties include: Train, supervise, and mentor approximately 20 graduate students (both MA and Ph.D.) assigned to teach the basic course; Teach MC 6970: Teaching Practicum in Media and Communication, a one-credit-hour course taught each fall semester.
Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in Communication or related field (e.g., speech communication), at least one year of experience teaching Public Speaking at the college level as the instructor of record. Preferred qualification: Ph.D. in Communication or related field (e.g., communication studies), experience supervising and mentoring graduate students from diverse backgrounds, and demonstrated effectiveness teaching both online and face-to-face courses in Communication.
Starting date: August 10, 2022.
