Attorney
The Citizens’ Utility Ratepayer Board (CURB), a Kansas state agency, is seeking a highly motivated regulatory Attorney with excellent writing, analytical and oral advocacy skills to assist the consumer counsel in representing residential and small commercial consumers in utility rate cases and other regulatory proceedings before the Kansas Corporation Commission (Commission), courts of Kansas and in the Kansas Legislature.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge or a willingness to learn about issues related to regulation of the electric and natural gas industries, including the rate making process.
CURB seeks an attorney who is motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision. CURB attorneys are generally responsible for all aspects of case development and presentation, including issue development, discovery, presentation of the ratepayers’ case and testimony both alone or in conjunction with outside consultants, preparation of motions, briefs and other internal and external communications.
Applicants must be a member of the Kansas Bar and have litigation experience.
Salary range: $58,000-$68,000, depending on experience.
