Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR
(Pay Grade 5: Current Hourly Pay Range: $21.86 – $27.93 per hour)
(WITH A CLASS III OEPA CERTIFICATION: Grade 6: Current Hourly Pay Range: $22.96 – $29.31)
Hourly position responsible for oversight of the operation of the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring effluent quality and proper/efficient plant operation. Oversees plant operations; checks equipment; performs lab tests; monitors plant via computer and plant walk through rounds; performs maintenance duties; operates trucks and other equipment; removes Biosolids (hauls sludge); collects samples; attends training; prepares /maintains documentation; performs custodial tasks and other related duties as assigned. Works both indoors & outdoors; works alone; irregular work schedules; must be available to work shift work, weekends, and holidays. High school diploma or equivalent; Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) Wastewater Treatment Certifications preferred; valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required or must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire; must obtain a Class I OEPA Wastewater Treatment Certification within two (2) years of hire; 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
