Two full-time positions availablewith KCMO’s General Services Department, Central Administration Division, and Finance Department, Accounts Division, 414 E. 12th St. Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. General Services: Prepares ordinance requests providing for the estimation of revenue/appropriation of funds. Coordinates the preparation of the department’s annual budget. Reviews/approves ordinance requests, requests for budget adjustment, change orders, encumbrance forms and other documents. Collects and analyzes cost data and other information to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of departmental programs, activities, procedures. Prepares quarterly reviews of expenditures and revenues. Develops, writes, edits policies and procedures. Prepares financial documents and other accounting documents utilizing spreadsheets and presentation graphics. Performs other related duties as assigned.Finance:Manages the biweekly preparation and execution of Citywide payroll processing. Creates and submits payment vouchers in PeopleSoft for payroll related transactions. Assists with implementing PeopleSoft system upgrades and tax updates. Collects and analyzes payroll data and PeopleSoft system data to evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of payroll procedures and makes recommendations to promote effective and economic operations. Interprets and assists with communication of payroll related inquiries pertaining to employees’ paychecks or other requests from departments within the City.REQUIRES an accredited Master's degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, accounting, finance or a related field; OR an accredited Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, urban or regional planning, economics, accounting, finance or a related field and 1 year of professional experience in public or business administration, corporate or municipal finance, budget, research, accounting or a related field.Salary Range:$3,957-$6,702/month.Application Deadline: March 4. 2019.Apply online at www.kcmo.gov/careers.
