TRUANCY CASE MANAGER

Part-time limited term contract position available with KCMO’s Municipal Court, Probation & Specialty Courts, 511 E. 11 th St.
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. hours vary.
The 6-month part-time Case Manager will provide field-based wrap-around case management
and referral services to Truancy program parents and children who are in violation of
the Missouri Compulsory Attendance Law and are referred to Truancy Court by their
school district. Serves as a point of contact for the participants, community providers,
truancy team and the Truancy Judge. Sets up weekly team staff meetings, attends staffing,
attends court hearing. Enters all information and participant progress in the COMBAT
Connections Community Care Link (CCL) electronic system. Establishes relationship
with participants, school staff. Assists community agencies with coordination of
services for Truancy participants. Identifies barriers and root cause of truant behavior,
makes appropriate referrals, provides follow-up of participant activities to ensure
participants are meeting program requirements. Reports outcomes to the
Truancy team. Maintains weekly contacts with participants to ensure participants are
attending recommended programming. Investigates factors affecting the success of
those participants who have opted to participants in the Truancy Intervention
Program (TIP) rather than maintain an electronic record for each assigned
participant. Tracks/documents referrals and program results in the CCL electronic
system. Develops, implements, tracks incentive program for participant. Utilizes
computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets,
IMDSPlus, LEWEB, Community Care Link. Assists in collecting and entering pertinent
information into the various systems. REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's
degree in human services, social work, or a related field and 3 years of experience
working in a school system or working with children; OR an equivalent combination of
qualifying education and experience. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license
in accordance with KCMO policies and insurance. Preference given for court
and/or Truancy Court knowledge and experience.
Salary: $45.00/hour.
