Chief Metallurgist
Chief Metallurgist for Newmont International Services Limited (Englewood, CO)-Responsible for overall management & supervision of Metallurgical laboratory & warehouse operations.
Requirements include: Bachelor's degree & 10 years of post-Bachelor's progressive experience in mining operations.
Essential Duties:
Responsible for overall management and supervision of Metallurgical laboratory and warehouse operations. Plans and supervises activities of Metallurgical laboratory including managing workload and multiple stakeholders, maintaining storage and sample preparation areas and setting priorities. Maintains expert knowledge of metallurgical and water treatment tests and man-power requirements for each test. Analyzes data, draws conclusions and documents findings from testwork. Plans, leads and performs/supports metallurgical surveys at operating sites and pilot-plant or demonstration testing activities. Maintains expert knowledge of research and technology development test efforts and manages resources to support delivery of Process Technical solutions for complex metallurgical problems/projects. Acts as a technical expert in hydrometallurgy, flotation, environmental sustainability or comminution by leading key research initiatives, projects and development. Liaises with Metallurgy, Water Treatments, Mineralogy and Analytical laboratories to determine project completion requirements and establishes priorities.
