Fishermen
Fisherman. Alpha VesselCo, LLC (Moss Point, MS). 19 openings. Temp, F/T job from 4/1/19 to 11/3/19. Assist in the
performance of all aspects of the purse boat operation. Tasks include, but are not limited to, working w/nets, net
deployment & retrieving eqpmt & bailing fish from net to steamer. Responsible for maintaining vessel in sanitary,
organized condition. Complete all tasks safely. Report all hazards, accidents, injuries, or environmental excursions to
Captain or a member of the mgmt team immediately. Follow all terms/conditions of Fisherman's Agreement. Work
Schedule: M-F, 6am-6pm, times may vary w/a min. of 35 hrs/wk. Hrs are no set hrs. Fishing duties to be performed only
during daylight hrs. Reqs 1 month purse seining exp. Must be able to: Work in cold, wet, hot, & humid weather; Work on
feet in bent, stooped or staying positions for long periods of time; Lift up to 50 lbs consistently all day long. Background
check & post-offer, pre/post-employment drug screening'll be carried out equally between US workers & H2B workers.
Must pass post-offer, pre-employment physical exam at employer's expense. These reqmts are for all US & H-2B workers.
Observing safety procedures & proper use of safety devices is a condition of employment. Rate of Pay: $.49 piece rate
per 1,000 fish caught ($.46 piece rate for fishermen with less than 2 yrs exp). However wage rate will in no case'll be less
than $18.58/hr. O/T not available. A single workweek'll be used to compute wages due. Wages paid bi-weekly. All
deductions from worker's paycheck reqd by law'll be made. Employer'll provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, &
eqpmt reqd to perform job. Employer guarantees to offer work for hrs equal to at least 3/4ths of workdays in each 12-week
period of total employment period. Employer'll pay upfront for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, & other related
fees, including those mandated by government (excluding passport fees). Ground transport to place of employment'll be
provided by employer at no cost to worker (air travel paid upfront); Ground expenses & subsistence costs'll be reimbursed
to worker during the 1st work week. Daily subsistence'll be provided at a rate of $12.26/day during travel to a max of
$51.00/day w/receipts. If worker does not complete at least 1/2 of employment period, worker is expected to refund
employer. Return transport'll be provided if worker completes employment period or is dismissed early by employer.
Housing is not available. However, accommodations on vessel may be available when in port if reqd at no charge.
Workers are provided a weekly meal allowance. Any overages above set meal allowance'll be deducted from payroll
