Rate: $56,500 - $64,000 @ 1.0 FTE
Position Summary:
Performs supervisory and managerial work for the Service Center Purchasing and Contracting unit, as well as accounts payable. The Service Center is responsible for providing administrative and business services to all SOU departments. This position is responsible for ensuring the Service Center provides efficient and effective purchasing, contracting, and accounts payable services to the campus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, or related field or a minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Supervisory Experience.
- Experience managing an organization with complex and competing interests and work elements.
Preferred Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Business, Communication, or a related field.
- Prior experience working in a university environment.
- Prior experience with purchasing/procurement
- Prior experience with contracting
- FEMA/ICS trainings and certifications
- Prior experience with Workday or Banner software system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communication skills in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and resolve problems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including use of MS Office applications, database management, and enterprise computing.
- Experience analyzing and reviewing data and implementing process changes based on that data.
- Ability to successfully build relationships and work cross functionally to establish effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated prior customer service experience.

Special Conditions
- Must be willing to travel and attend training programs off-site for occasional professional development.
- Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs. May be called back periodically to perform work as needed on an emergency basis.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
- Under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA):
-Position classification defined as “exempt” are not subject overtime
-Position classifications defined as “non exempt” are *subject to overtime
- The person holding this position is considered a “mandated reporter” under the Oregon Revised Statues and is required to comply with the requirements set forth by the Oregon department of Human Services.
