Summary: The Fabrication Shop Foreman is responsible for directing the workflow and priorities of the Fabrication Dept. for Glassline Corp. in order to meet all build schedules. They direct and supervise the fabrication shop employees, including the fabricators within the NSEP Division. They communicate and coordinate with other Staff such as the Job Coordinator, Supply Chain Manager, Machine Shop Foreman, Assembly Foreman, Engineering, as well as other Staff to ensure both internal and external Customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions: Attend weekly production meetings and ensure understanding of schedule requirements and priorities. Communicate daily with other Staff on prioritizing and scheduling work in conjunction with other Divisions and departments. Schedule hours and organize work flow for all manpower, equipment(laser, bender, saws, drill, welders, burn, shear) and duties of the fabrication shop/s to ensure an efficient flow of product as well as manpower efficiency. Supervise fabrication shop employees, ensuring they are meeting expectations of performance and following procedures, and coaching them for improvement. Check employee clock hours daily to ensure correct entries, and ensure they are corrected. Order, and maintain inventory control, for shop supplies and essentials, such as welding supplies, laser supplies, tooling, regrinds, oils, coolants, maintenance parts, safety equipment, etc. Order, and maintain inventory control, for production materials needed for jobs, in order to meet delivery schedules. Assist Machine Shop Foreman as needed by purchasing of tooling, shop supplies, etc. Obtain best costs possible on purchased materials and supplies. To ensure timely deliveries, assist in finding outside subcontactors for work that cannot be done in-house, or for work overflow. Assist Sales as needed in Costing and quoting Fabrication work Follow all company Policies and Procedures, and take ownership of Fabrication Department Procedures Competencies Excellent organization skills and multi-tasking ability Excellent communication skils General knowledge in the area of steel fabrication Supervisory skills including coaching, teaching, delegation, etc. PC skills required - Working in ERP system, misc. spreadsheet and other office programs. Supervisory Responsibility GL Corp. Fab Shop employees as well as the welders/fabricators of NSEP Division.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 1st shift, with typical hours 6-3:30 although variable. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel: None typically, although visits to local/regional subcontractor shops may be required.

Required Education and Experience: High School or Equivalent At least 10 years working in Fabrication shop Supervisory experience.
