Dental Assistant
Dental Assistant Needed for Pediatric Dental Office. The dental assistant will greet patients, lead them to the examining room, and prepare them to see the dentist. Main responsibilities include assisting the dentist in examining and cleaning the patients' teeth. May also perform some dental procedures on own if qualified. Will perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and organizing patient records as needed.
Dental Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
Gathering patient information and health background. Providing patient care and support Taking X-rays of patient's teeth and processing results. Preparing the work area for procedures. Assisting dentist by handing them instruments and equipment, taking notes when needed. Educating patients on good oral hygiene habits. Preparing materials for crowns or dental impressions. Performing coronal polishing, sealant application, fluoride application, and topical anesthetic application as needed. Directing patients and maintaining schedule. Stocking treatment areas and monitoring inventory.
Dental Assistant Requirements and Qualifications
Accurate and precise attention to detail. Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures. Compassionate and caring of patients. Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to work in an intense, concentrated environment. Calm and cool-headed with a positive attitude. Complies with all regulations, protocols, and procedures. Degree from school accredited by Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and American Dental Association.
Dental Assisting certification: Licensed, registered, or certified by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Current certification in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
X-Ray Certification: Meet all local and state requirements to operate radiography equipment Corona Polish Certificate a must.
