Lucas County Lucas County Canine Care & Control is accepting applications to fill the position of Canine Care Center Supervisor until the position is filled.
General Summary
Under general direction from the Director/Chief Dog Warden assigns, supervises and evaluates the work of the Canine Care Technicians and the Behavior staff office in the performance of their essential duties & related daily operations. Works with the Veterinarian and Director/Chief Dog Warden to ensure the smooth operation of all aspects of Lucas County Canine Care & Control, including but not limited to ensuring that all dogs in our custody receive the highest quality care possible while promoting professionalism and high standards of customer service.
Essential Job Functions
• Directly supervise and evaluate Canine Care Technicians and Behavior staff in the performance of their essential job duties; effectively recommend the hire, transfer, demotion and dismissal of employees in Canine Care Technician and Behavior staff, participate in the hiring process for positions under his/her immediate supervision; use independent judgment in the areas of “first step” grievance adjustment and may issue counseling and take disciplinary action up to and including written reprimands; approve requests for time off from staff under his/her immediate supervision.
