Professional Development Program Coordinator
his position is a key member of the Professional Development department of the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. The Professional Development department provides professional training courses, conferences and workshops to local, county, state, tribal, railroad and federal law enforcement agency personnel. Professional training programs reach audiences in every area of the State of Kansas. Comprehensive programming develops from collaborations with client organizations representing line and administrative staff. As a Professional Development Coordinator, one main responsibility is to provide support to the Assistant Director for Professional Development for program development and delivery, implementation of new programs and direct interaction with stakeholders. Will serve as the contact for assigned continuing education programs and make assignments for training programs in conjunction with the supervisor. The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating student/staff services, daily scheduling of facilities and resources, ensuring all necessary material is available when needed, and interaction with law enforcement agencies and other government entities throughout the state. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for coordinating the expanding use of continuing education technology and management systems, including on-line classes in Blackboard, and Enrole information/registration systems.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or Baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations in the United States and three years related experience;
- Excellent communication skills as evidenced by work history and application materials submitted;
- Experience with presentation software applications, especially PowerPoint;
- Experience organizing, managing and supervising multiple and varied tasks and projects as demonstrated by education, work history and application material;
- Valid Kansas Driver’s License.
Position Requirements:
Significant travel including overnight stays and multiple destinations required to perform the responsibilities and duties assigned to this position.
