Assistant Manager
Lock City Home Center is looking for an Assistant Manager to join our talented team. As an
Assistant Manager, you will use your experience, positive attitude, and hands on assistance in
leading a sales team to ensure that we exceed our customers’ expectations. Founded in 1903, Lock
City Home Center is a local lumber and hardware retailer with a simple philosophy: offer an honest
value and the best customer service we can. We do this by carrying some of the best brands at the
lowest price possible, and hiring and training talented, hardworking people.
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of retail store associates in
a fast-paced retail environment requiring hands-on management and assistance.
Additional responsibilities of the Assistant Store Manager include:
-Flex your organizational skills to build relationships with store personnel, create impactful
action plans, and support a positive brand image.
-Helping customers by processing sales, special orders, or answer various questions that the
customer may have.
-Be up to a challenge because every day is different and each customer requires their own
unique solution to their building/hardware needs.
-Ensure sales and orders are flawlessly executed on time or in timely fashion.
-Meet and exceed sales goals by increasing in-store visibility of promotions.
-Ensure products are always available by maintaining merchandising and display standards.
-Implement innovative marketing strategies that drive product positioning and awareness.
-Conducting daily store walk-through to determine department needs and ensuring products
are sufficiently supplied and displayed.
-Communicating areas that are in need of attention to individual sales team members.
-Providing training and directing supervision to sales team.
-Assisting in maintaining all store building/facilities and grounds.
-Work with the General Manager to grow Lock City and identify and address any needs that
the store may have in regards to advertising, methods, product, or personnel.
-Work in an energetic and engaging fashion to help educate, grow, and support the team here
at Lock City.
Qualifications
A successful candidate would be someone who values a family oriented working environment and
has the ability to follow our guidelines would be a good fit in this fast-paced, dynamic retail
environment.
Additional requirements of the Assistant Manager include:
-Ability to work full time and every other weekend
-Valid driver’s license
-Hardware/Lumber retail experience preferred but not required.
-Ability to travel for various training and product shows
-Be able to consistently lift 80lbs or more
-Ability to communicate and treat others with respect
