A medical scribe assists the provider with a variety of tasks; performing documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient's visit, and partnering with the provider to deliver the most efficient patient care. Duties and Responsibilities:

* Document the physician dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications, allergies, and dictated physical exam findings, without interjecting their own observations.

* Documenting procedures performed by the provider.

* Importing radiology reports, lab results, procedure results, as well as progress notes from other providers.

* List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.

* Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and managements.

* Facilitate communication between providers and other staff.

* Travel to different clinic locations throughout the area.

* Perform other clerical tasks that optimize efficiency.

Qualifications:

* Preferred Medical terminology and/or anatomy and physiology course completion or equivalent experience.

* Demonstrate proficiency in typing (around 55 wpm) and computer use.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality of patients and employee information.

* Ability to comprehend multiple verbal instructions given.

* Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

* Ability to work and participate in a team environment.

* Must be able to stand on the job for long periods of time.

* Interest in continuing into the medical field as a career.

* Healthcare experience preferred, but not required.

* Availability for at least two shifts.
