Event Sales Manager

Merchants Exchange Productions is now searching for a strong full-time Event Sales Manager. Our company has a long history of producing high-level events in San Francisco for established customers and there will also be the opportunity (and expectation) to develop a new book of business and manage event needs for new clients. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with non-profit organizations and understands how to proactively and successfully solicit new business opportunities through inside sales, networking and outside sales. Developing and maintaining a positive relationship with independent event planners is imperative.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop an outreach plan for targeted groups.
- Be the face of MEP, representing the company in the tech/pharma world.
- Attend local trade shows and other off-site events.
- Respond to inbound requests and conduct tours of event spaces.
- Create proposals, contracts, and invoices servicing the clients from the sale through event completion.
- Meet and exceed individual sales goals while working with the existing sales team to meet overall team goals.
- Work with production assistants to properly coordinate the day-of logistical details and assist as needed.
- Attend weekly sales meetings reporting daily updates to the General Manager.

Qualifications
- 5 years of event sales experience in the hospitality or hotel industry is required
- Proven track record in closing sales in the San Francisco area
- A positive and confident attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
- Must resonate with the company ethos and represent ownership appropriately
