EDUCATIONAL, HISTORICAL, AND OUTDOOR SKILLS PROGRAM STAFF
Metroparks of the Toledo Area is looking for motivated, innovative and fun individuals to deliver educational programs to the public.
Seasonal positions. Up to 40 hours per week.
Cultural Programmer: Take a boat ride every day! Join our team as part of the historical Canal Experience at Providence Metropark. Kids and adults get to experience what it is like to take a boat trip in 1876. Some college course work in history, education, communication, theatre or parks and recreation preferred and some experience in historical re-enactment, research, public programming desired. $9.23/hr.
Day Camp Coordinator: You will have the opportunity to provide a positive and educational experience for visitors to Metroparks and participants in Metroparks children’s summer day camp through leadership of volunteers, staff, and families involved in the summer camp program. $10.22/hr.
Environmental Education Programmer: Help make coming to the park an outstanding experience for our nature camp participants of all ages. Must have completed sophomore year towards college degree in environmental science, biology, education, outdoor recreation or related college program, or equivalent work experience. Previous work or volunteer experience working with groups of children and experience leading outdoor education programs for all ages required; previous experience as a counselor or naturalist at a children’s camp preferred. $9.47/hr.
Outdoor Skills Programmer: Have a great time conducting outdoor skills programs such as canoeing, archery, hiking, etc…Must have completed sophomore year towards college degree in environmental science, biology, education, outdoor recreation or related college program, or equivalent work experience. Previous work or volunteer experience working with groups of children and experience leading outdoor education programs for all ages required; experience leading outdoor recreation trips or programs preferred. $9.47/hr.
Camp Inclusion Programmer:
Metroparks Toledo is looking for individuals to provide engaging and educational camp experiences for Metroparks visitors and program participants. Must have completed sophomore year towards college degree in environmental science, biology, education, physical, occupational or recreational therapy, nursing, special education, outdoor recreation or related college program, or equivalent work experience. Previous work or volunteer experience working with individuals or groups of children with physical and/or cognitive disabilities preferred. Experience leading outdoor education programs for all ages required; previous experience as a counselor or naturalist at a children’s camp preferred. $9.47hr. May through August
