Scientific Technician/Controls Engineer
Scientific Technician/Controls Engineer - Production Products, Inc., Columbus Grove, OH. Maintains/Develops all required software within the plant including operation and technical support to drive continuous improvement. Develop and implement effective software changes to improve the production capabilities to achieve the highest performance, support and develop methods to improve transfer and progressive press, robotic and weld uptime ensuring all software changes are correctly done and documented in accordance with TS16949 &ISO 14001 requirements. Supports continuous improvement activities and the safety of all team members.
Responsibilities: Propose process specification and design standards on electrical matters; Develop and implement software changes to improve production capabilities; Design, and maintain electrical controls, and software; Troubleshoot and problem-solve all electrical control related issues for press, robotic and weld machines; Support production in reducing 1 eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap; Coordinate, plan and implement all electrical controls related projects; Participate in training and travel for follow-up procedures; Review and approve processes for production work flow set-ups for ultimate approval of the supervising Engineering Manager; Has the authority to recommend stopping production operations with respect to safety or quality concerns; .Participates in production, and shift to shift meetings.
Requires: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering Science, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related & 2 years of experience, or 3 years toward a relevant bachelor's degree with an additional 4 years of experience. Any equivalent combination of education experience and training will also be considered. Experience to include: Design and Programming Control Systems and onsite installation of systems.
