Construction Superintendent

The NLS Paving Company, serving southeastern Ohio and West Virginia, a Subsidiary of The National Lime and Stone Company, a multi-plant natural resource company, has a Construction Superintendent position available. This individual is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating and directing all construction work related to a specific project or projects while strictly adhering to budgets and production rates; directly oversees and supervises work crews and foremen working on the projects, as well as coordinates and schedules subcontractors and suppliers in accordance with construction schedule and project needs and works alongside the project manager to follow project plan and specifications as well as report all work activities.

Successful applicants will have the following background and attributes: *Bachelor's degree preferred *Minimum of 5 years of experience as project superintendent in the heavy highway construction industry *Ability to work 50-70 hours a week including weekends and nights as needed *Extensive knowledge of all paving equipment and innovative construction techniques *Understands fundamentals of surveying and elevations *Ability to articulate the knowledge of paving and roadway construction processes to others *Ability to travel as needed, including, but not limited to, working in multiple counties and surrounding states *Proficient in grade, pipe, concrete, dirt and heavy highway construction *Good verbal and written communication skills, especially with DOT, general contractors, sub- Contractors and owners *Works well under pressure and good ability to coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency *Valid driver's license with insurable driving record This position provides competitive pay and benefits.
