Staff & Field Engineer

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assistance and support to ESC (Engineering Service Center) manager with requests for design, materials, pavement and concrete construction recommendations Direct education and certification activities, including ACI, NRMCA, and Ohio Concrete programs Assist Ohio Concrete Promotion Directors with technical marketing and education activities Provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for mix design, concrete production, materials, construction, and post-construction defects for membership Serve on Ohio Concrete Technical & Certification Committee Actively participate with Ohio DOT’s materials and structures committees Contributes to monthly and quarterly publications

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a representative to NRMCA, ACI (local and international) and ASTM organizations Follow current concrete materials research activities and new innovations Perform NRMCA plant & truck inspections certification upon member requests Work closely with ESC Manager and Promotion Directors to meet request and program deadlines

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Understand basic concrete and materials technology in design, production and construction Must have excellent communication skills and present to technical and non-technical groups Possess advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills Must be physically fit for construction site trips and manage trade show exhibits Ohio professional engineer license preferred, or capable of obtaining license if not yet eligible

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE: Engineering college graduate or equivalent, Bachelor of Science or higher Concrete and materials experience, construction background a plus
