Events Coordinator
Ohio Wesleyan University is a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus, is seeking candidates for the position of Events Coordinator. This is a salaried, full time position with benefits.

Job Summary:
The Office of Admission at Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU) invites applications for an Events Coordinator to organize, manage, and evaluate all on and off-campus events (in-person and virtual) for the Enrollment Division. This individual will also share some responsibility for active recruitment and enrollment of a nationwide pool of students. The successful candidate will possess strong communication, management and organizational skills and be willing to travel up to 1-2 weeks a year. Weekend and evening work will be required. This individual reports to the Director of Admission and will be based on campus in Delaware, OH
Responsibilities and Duties:
- To thrive in this role, you must coordinate and manage logistics for all in-person and virtual on- and off-campus events for prospective students and school and independent counselors
- To be a successful Event Planner at OWU, you must effectively collaborate with various constituencies such as: faculty, staff, current students, alumni, housekeeping, Buildings and Grounds, and Catering services, to ensure for fully staffed and successful events
- It will be essential for the Event Planner to work with the Office of University Communications to develop effective communications related to events, invitations, web info, schedules, post-event surveys, for example.
- As an Event Planner you will also have the opportunity to assist with managing logistics of and publicity for special University events in collaboration with the Office of University Communications.
- In order to fully appreciate the work of the Office of Admission, the Event Planner will also foster, build and maintain relationships with constituents (prospective students and families along with school and independent counselors) in an assigned territory, educate those constituents about Ohio Wesleyan, engage with them through direct communication and review and evaluate applications for admission and scholarship programs in a timely manner.
Factors Contributing to Success:
- Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with 1-2 years of admission, event planning or related experience being preferred but not required. Because of the travel requirement, a valid driver’s license is also required.
- Technical proficiencies in Google products, video conferencing software and higher education CRM’s (preferably Slate) are highly desired.
