Position Description
Pioneer Technical Services, Inc. is currently looking for a Staff Engineer/Scientist to be based and work out of our Billings, MT office. This position will assist the Project Manager with the execution of basic tasks throughout all project phases. The Staff Engineer/Scientist is an entry level position requiring little or no experience.
The Staff Engineer/Scientist will prepare work plans that include design drawings and technical specifications, develop cost estimates and bid documents, perform environmental site assessments, and review and interpret laboratory analytical results. Additionally, this position will conduct environmental and regulatory compliance inspections at oil and gas production facilities and prepare subsequent reports, forms, figures, and tables. Routine field activities include inventorying equipment and collecting field data at oil and gas production facilities. Candidate must have a Valid Class D Drivers License.
Position Requirements
- Record field data and prepare reports, summaries, or charts that interpret the data.
- Maintain files, such as databases, testing results, photographs, field log books, site diagrams, etc.
- Prepare design drawings, figures, technical specifications, and work plans for bidding and construction purposes.
- Collect samples of natural gas, crude oil, soils, water, industrial wastewater, or asbestos products to conduct tests on pollutant levels or identify sources of pollution.
- Weigh, analyze, and measure collected soil and water samples for electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, chloride, or petroleum hydrocarbons to determine concentration of pollutants.
- Perform statistical analysis of laboratory and field data.
- Discuss test results and analyses with clients.
- Develop or implement programs for the monitoring of environmental pollution or remediation.
- Develop or implement site reclamation/remediation work plans.
- Oversee and document construction activities.
- Assist with surveying tasks and conduct construction materials testing.
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required,
Field of Study: Civil/Environmental Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
Experience: Little or no experience required.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are required. Knowledge and the basic understanding of using Microsoft Office Products, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and databases are preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Engineer in Training (EIT) (Preferred but not Required)
40 Hour Hazardous Materials Training (Preferred)
Remediation Management Control of Work Training (Preferred)
Safe Land Training (Preferred)
Other Physical Requirements
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Hard Hat, Steel Toed Boots, Safety Glasses and Respirator.
