Career Opportunity: Non-Profit Accounting/Compliance and HR Coordinator
Organization/Location: Polar Bears International (PBI): Bozeman, Montana (PBI Headquarters)
Salary (Depending on experience & Depending on qualification): $45,000 - $60,320 /Year
General Schedule: Full-time, Exempt (Business Hours Monday-Friday)
Not a remote opportunity - Full-Time in person at the Bozeman, MT office required - relocation is not covered by PBI |

Summary/Objective
The Non-Profit Accounting/Compliance and HR Coordinator will serve as the lead staff member responsible for various operations of the non-profit organization including accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, A/R and A/P, grant reporting, preparation for annual audits and tax filings, as well as compliance, recruiting, hiring, training, and others.
Key Duties and Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for daily bookkeeping functions specific to non-profit sector, including accounts payable/receivable
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts and credit cards
- Manage the closing of the books monthly for timely financial reporting specific to non-profit sector
- Provide information as requested to the external accountant to resolve discrepancies and support their efforts to create the monthly financial statements and cash flow projections
- Complete monthly bridge report between QuickBooks and donor management system
- Coordinate with payroll services to complete bi-monthly and monthly payroll
- Track expenses against contracts and grants specific to non-profits including; assisting with the preparation of invoices, tracking income and expenses for each program budget, and scheduling and reviewing reports with staff
- Coordinate Human Resources activities including legal compliance in all US states and Canadian provinces
- Review clerical and personnel records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
- Responsible for the recruiting, screening, hiring, and onboarding of new employees
High proficiency and/or experience in the following is required:
- Non-profit accounting principles; practices; bookkeeping; financial; and accounting systems
- Human Resources regulations and Grant Management Functions
- Verbal and written communication skills; analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail
- Operating computers, computer software, and other types of office equipment
- Working independently and in small remote international teams; international travel when required
Required Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in accounting or business administration; or equivalent education/experience
- 3-5 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or similar role
- Plus2-3 years experience with HR management OR 2-3 years experience with grant management and financial reporting/tracking
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced education and experience with non-profit management, administration of grants and contracts, finance/accounting, Human Resources, Google Drive, and Apple/Mac OS products
