Senior Manager, Business Development
The Senior Manager, Business Development (Market Intelligence) has responsibility to advance Rayonier's market intelligence program and build the services into a world-class program. The position will focus on developing the service offerings to meet internal customer needs and broaden the messaging of Rayonier characteristics in partnership with Investor Relations. This role will add value through economic and forest industry sector research, lead forest product price forecasting, manage business initiative evaluations and implementation planning, lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of market intelligence initiatives, and provide other analytical decision support services in collaboration with Rayonier teams. Keys to success will be through a combination of customer focus, application of technical/professional knowledge and managing work and time in a way that is efficient and enhances Rayonier's ability to identify, differentiate and apply value creation strategies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to advance Rayonier's Market Intelligence program into a world-class service to the company.
- Enhance the use and application of market information and tools to best position Rayonier to make strategic, tactical, and operational decisions
- Develop Rayonier macroeconomic and market-level expectations to inform strategic planning, portfolio management and business development opportunities
- Lead Market Intelligence reporting and transparency initiatives in support of Senior Management and Investor Relations
- Contribute to Business Development initiatives in driving growth and partnership with other Rayonier teams
- Maintain and grow relationships with consultants, contractors, and service providers to broaden the services and level of support to Rayonier
- Lead/participate on project teams in research and development to advance Rayonier performance
- Support all facets of timber market analysis including preparation and maintenance of market data, development of basin inventory dynamics, application of supply and demand modeling, and supply chain mapping.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in business or forestry related discipline with a Master's in Forestry, MBA or equivalent experience.
- 10 years in timberland and/or real estate operations, resource or land management, land valuation due diligence and analysis, or finance.
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills, commercial judgment and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently through self-initiative and collaboration with team and customers.
- Experience in strategic planning, timberland management, timber market research, complex financial and economic analyses, project and vendor management.
- Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
