Development Coordinator
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is currently considering applicants for the position of Development Coordinator. The Development Division at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame oversees Philanthropic Giving (Major Gifts, Foundation/Corporate and Government, Annual Fund), the Museum 2.0 Campaign, Board of Trustees, Rock Hall Membership Program and Artist and VIP Relations. The Development Coordinator reports to the Vice President of Development and External Relations and primarily provides administrative and strategic support for the VP of Development, but also assists team members in the Development Division, and with Trustee relations.
1. Provides high-level administrative support to the VP of Development and External Relations and the Development division:
- Maintains calendar for VP of Development and External Relations, regularly prioritizing and arranging internal and external meetings, conferences and appointments. Provides daily calendar of events.
- Prepares expense reports and arranges necessary travel reservations and itineraries.
- Anticipates and prepares background and presentation materials for VP of Development and External Relations for internal/external meetings, solicitations and development activities.
- Provides special handling to VIPs, donors, board members/trustees and Rock Hall members for special events and concerts.
- Assists in all aspects of the planning and execution of department-related fundraising and cultivation events, special projects and initiatives. Key point person to support the VP for planning, executing and donor fulfillment around the Rock Hall Induction.
- Works closely with Sr. Director of Development, Director of Trustee and Campaign Giving other Development team members, and Rock Hall staff.
2. Supports/helps coordinate communication between the Rock Hall and board members.
- Assists with triannual board activities including annual board retreat - planning, implementation, execution and follow up.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of board mailings, email communication and, committee meetings
3. Provide development research support. Help maintain and update fundraising trackers and databases. Provide key research and intelligence on board members, donors and partners as needed.
Duties include but may not be limited to the above.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree required, in a related field preferred.
- A minimum of two to three years administrative experience, preferably in a cultural arts and/or nonprofit environment. Prior development experience is helpful.
- Experience communicating with other not-for-profit institutions and the local and regional corporate community will be helpful.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently without close oversight, and also a team player who will engage productively with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside the Rock Hall.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with trustees, donors, members, VIPs and Inductees.
- Working knowledge of development databases/ fundraising software.
- Sound judgement, initiative and ability to handle confidential matters and information.
- Ability to successfully pass a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame reference check, background investigation, and drug screen.
- Computer Literate: Microsoft Products with strength in MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
- Ability to get along with other people
- Passion for music, and the mission of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
WORK SCHEDULE: Ability to work up to 40 hours per week; any shift as assigned, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Ability to work additional hours as workload demands. Hours are primarily 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.
STARTING SALARY: Commensurate with experience. (Full-Time/Non-Exempt)
