Accounting Assistant
GENERAL SUMMARY/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for understanding, upholding and promoting CSG’s Critical Success Factors:

Performs a variety of accounting tasks related to the maintenance/processing of accounting records, invoices, etc. and general office tasks as assigned by supervisor.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Compare vendor/subcontractor invoices to purchase orders or contracts to verify quantities, prices, payment terms, freight charges, extensions, etc., compute discounts, make sales/use tax determinations and place invoices in line for payment.
- Assist in collecting costs to various collection levels such as account, unit and job.
- Perform a variety of accounting data entry functions as needed using Spectrum construction accounting software and Excel.
- Scan documents, including sensitive data.
- Prepares control documents for use in reconciling payable transactions.
- May type correspondence, print checks, and reports as workload requires.
- Performs a variety of payroll data entry functions including, but not limited to, timecard entry on Spectrum construction accounting software.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
JOB CRITERIA
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Educational and experience requirements include: High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 -2 years business/accounting school, accounting training or minimum 1-year bookkeeping (accounting) experience or equivalent combinations of experience and training related experience. Some clerical experience is desirable. Basic understanding of bookkeeping and/or accounting procedures and techniques beneficial.
