In this role, you will be responsible for:
Conduct advanced market research and marketing analytics on complex retail client business issues, including measurement of marketing, advertising and sales strategy effectiveness, and competitor analysis, using a broad array of Nielsen solutions and product suites. Collaborate with cross-functional retail client service teams through the stages of designing, selling, executing and presenting analytics studies, using proprietary consumer data to meet client needs, ensuring delivery of pro-active insights and action-oriented solutions. Collaborate with clients on the development of joint business plans. Proactively introduce and consultatively sell small, ad-hoc analytics projects to assigned clients. Establish enduring relationships with mid- to senior-level client representatives, demonstrating the value of Nielsen solutions and services to the client’s overall marketplace position while also highlighting their unique competitive advantage. Train and mentor (without supervisory or managerial authority) 1-2 junior analysts. Tools used include: MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), SQL, Tableau, Spectra and CASE.
For this role, we are looking for individuals that have:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing/market research, statistics, operations research, business administration with a marketing/market research and/or data analytics component, or a related field (foreign equivalent degree acceptable), plus 4 years of experience in marketing and sales analytics-based consulting for the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry (would also accept a master’s degree plus 2 years of experience). This must include: 2 years of experience in: using MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Cloud-based technology for data analytics and visualization; analyzing complex and disparate data sets, including Point of Sale, Consumer Panel as well as client and public-sourced data with advanced analytics techniques (Product Pricing and Assortment analytics); working with at least 5 datasets and translating data into actionable insights; working with cross-functional internal and external teams (including resolving conflicting agendas); and resolving client business issues.
