The Math and Data Science department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a Collaborative Statistical Center Manager position. This is a regular, full-time position.
St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, is a comprehensive Catholic university and home to one of the nation’s largest colleges for women, with associate and graduate programs for both women and men. Founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in 1905, the University integrates liberal arts and professional education within the Catholic traditions of intellectual inquiry and social teaching. The Mathematics and Data Sciences majors are offered in our College for Women. However, the Collaborative Statistical Center will serve all students by providing statistical analysis resourcing and support to university research teams in partnership with community groups to better understand and analyze systemic racism and other social injustices. The impact is in creating space and support of collaborative research and analysis that instigate and empower social change. An initial primary project of the Center is in collaboration with the Center for Community Work and Learning, and Mapping Prejudice. This Manager role will be responsible for the project coordination of St. Kate’s work of “Welcoming the Dear Neighbor?”
Responsibilities include:
- Establishing the Statistical Center in collaboration with the Director of Data Science
- Creating and launching consultation and analysis support services offered by the center
- Supporting faculty and student research teams that include people from diverse cultures and perspectives
- Coordinating the collaboration between St. Catherine University and Mapping Prejudice
- Creating and implementing the “data for social justice” multi-year plan utilizing data from Mapping Prejudice
- Managing the “Welcoming the Dear Neighbor?” project focusing on raising awareness of racial inequities and injustices
- Partnering with community and government representatives to create mutually beneficial projects
- Developing and enhancing statistical software training
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Two years of experience in statistical analysis/research
- Experience with various statistical software, quantitative and qualitative
- Experience in program design, development, management and evaluation
- Experience working with and supporting diverse populations
- Experience in higher education
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in statistics or related discipline
