Facilities Specialist I
The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a qualified individual to fill the Facilities Specialist I position.
The responsibilities assigned to the successful candidate will include: conducts facilities inspections and identifies items to be addressed with proposed action plans as required; monitors the Unit’s web-based work order system and dispatches services calls; monitors energy consumption through EnergyCAP and resolves anomalies; acts as a liaison with other operating units, agencies and outside officials regarding facilities programs; assists with the administration of preventative maintenance contracts; assists with code related projects; prepares reports and correspondence; performs related duties as required. Selected candidate will respond to after hour emergency situations as necessary.
Starting Salary $69,757 – plus State of Connecticut benefits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY: Knowledge of the principles and practices of business and public administration with emphasis on facilities management; knowledge of governmental fiscal and budgetary practices; knowledge of research and statistical methods; knowledge of data processing techniques; knowledge of maintenance of facilities and modern security methods; knowledge of state and federal occupational safety codes; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; computer skills; supervisory ability.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
General Experience: Five years of professional experience in the field of facilities management.
Substitution Allowed:
1) College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen semester hours equaling one-half year of experience to a maximum of four years for a Bachelor's degree.
2) One year as an Administrative Trainee in the Facilities Unit may be substituted for the General Experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Incumbents may be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
