The Career & Technology Center at Fort Osage in Independence, MO is accepting applications for a Welding Teacher beginning with the 2020-2021 school year. The position includes a yearly salary and full paid benefits. Weekends and summer off.
The Welding Teacher will perform duties related to student success by utilizing classroom and laboratory instruction, industry certification preparation, work-based learning, internships and Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSO's). American Welding Society (AWS) curriculum and certifications will be the focus, as well as other curriculum resources/initiatives.
The teacher's schedule will follow the Fort Osage School District school calendar.
Required:
- A minimum of three years verifiable welding industry work experience within the last ten years
- Current Missouri Career & Technical Education teaching certificate. If the successful candidate does not hold a current Missouri Career & Technical Education teaching certification, certification coursework will need to be completed within three years
- Current AWS certification or the ability to earn these certifications within the first year of employment
- Demonstration of highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects, including appearance, demeanor, and attitude
- Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
- Solid computer software skills
