Behavioral /Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
The Nexus Group in Pittsburgh, PA is a widely respected and rapidly growing outpatient private psychiatric practice treating child, adolescent, and adult patients. We are seeking a talented and passionate Nurse Practitioner to fill a Full Time opening within our Squirrel Hill/Shadyside office. We are a lean, digital office with a great support staff, allocating ample time for appointments and follow-ups.

Our optimal candidate will thrive under pressure and be able to self-direct their day-to-day responsibilities. You will be collaborating with a managing psychiatrist to provide consistent and quality treatment to patients.
This is a Full Time position based in our Squirrel Hill location. Hours during the week may fluctuate depending on caseload and patient needs.The Nexus Group offers a very competitive salary and an excellent comprehensive benefits package.
Key job duties will include:
- Perform complete initial psychiatric assessments/evaluations and determine diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Provide follow up care and consultations to patients.
- Prescribe medications and collaborates with the supervising psychiatrist in case management
- Utilize specific electronic medical record system and other digital tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in patient record documentation and management.
- Other duties as assigned
Total compensation ranges between $117,000 - $152,000, including: sign-on bonus, medical and dental insurance, retirement benefits with 3% immediate match. Three weeks of paid time off plus holidays and opportunities for paid training/advancement if desired
Requirements for this position:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a Psychiatric or Behavioral Health position
- Additional experience in a private practice facility is desirable
- An unconditional license (also known as a license without restriction) certified by the National Board Certification for Nurse Practitioners through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Registration with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to prescribe controlled substances without sanction, restriction or limitation.
- Current CPR certification is required
- Obtain and maintain clearances below:
- Act 33 Clearance (PA Child Abuse Clearance)
- Act 73 Clearance (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History)
- Act 34 Clearance (PA Criminal Record Check)
- Act 31 Clearance (Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training)
- Comfortable with specific electronic medical record and other computer software
