Fitness Coordinator
40 hours per week with medical, dental, life, short term disability, employee assistance program, retirement and paid time off. flexible schedule which includes Wednesday evening and some Saturday hours. expiration date - 6/19 at 4:00pm salary - $17.00/hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Managing fitness services, creating and leading fitness programs and maintaining fitness equipment.
- Oversees the scheduling of all fitness services
- Lead fitness classes
- Perform inspections and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of fitness areas and equipment
- Operate all fitness equipment and programs in a safe manner
- Make appointments for fitness equipment service
- Document information regarding member participation in fitness services
- Record and retain date of names/numbers of participants for each day
- Maintain a positive, healthy and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations
- Assist with Interviewing and selecting program employees
- Supervise Fitness Assistant
- Assist with the development of annual fitness budget
- Monitors revenues and expenses of fitness budget
Experience, Educational Qualifications and Abilities
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- An Associate Degree in a related field preferred
- Fitness service knowledge and experience required
- Ability to lead fitness classes
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in a related setting preferred
- Working with adults living with mental illness and/or alcohol and other drug addictions, developmental disabilities or related fields in social service preferred
- Personal or lived experience with mental illness preferred
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
- Needs minimal or no oversight to complete duties
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of members, employees, guests and community partners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to interact with members, volunteers, and employees in a team environment and possess characteristics such as patience and tolerance, while demonstrating behaviors that reflect respect for all persons
