IT Manager

The Blade is looking for an organized and efficient IT Manager to join our company. The IT Manager is responsible for not only premise-based IT functions, but works with vendors on hosted solutions, and supports an emphasis on Cyber Security and managing corporate mandated initiatives. This position, together with an experienced IT staff, must maintain a specific standard of IT support and coordination for the organization.
Managing in a media company requires the ability to work in an environment with not only daily deadlines, but project deadlines at the same time. The IT Manager will manage an IT staff with varied skill sets, who continually come together to support the organization’s needs, and move the staff between requests to ensure daily production is not impacted.
The IT Manager is required to keep up on new trends and efficiencies available in the technology workspace in order to plan and manage a yearly and five-year revolving capital budget for Information Technology needs.
Responsibilities of this position include:
Implementing and maintaining Cyber Security initiatives including perimeter and internal security prevention, remediation if needed and training of company staff in these measures.
Managing and monitoring hardware and software for both server and desktops.
Supervise and work with staff to address any technical problems while making recommendations to improve efficiencies where possible.
Interact with vendors on hosted system solutions, suppliers and contract consultants, creating relationships to ensure a productive environment.
Proactively create plans for business continuity and disaster avoidance.
Follow and enforce the Company’s policies and procedures at all times.
Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned in support of business objectives.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in IT – required
MCSE Certification – preferred
Minimum 5 years professional experience managing or supervising an IT Team;
Ability to effectively manage and mentor staff;
Proven experience in managing a Microsoft environment;
Proven experience as an IT Analyst, exhibiting excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities;
Experience documenting processes and procedures is required
Ability to solve issues with sense of urgency and accuracy in alignment with overall department and company goals;
Action oriented and able to think on their feet when an unexpected situation or crisis occurs.
