Media Production Supervisor

The Blade, a Pulitzer Prize-winning media company in Northwest Ohio, is looking for a Media Production Supervisor, who will oversee workflow through Advertising Services, Pre-press, Print Shop, and the Creative Ad Team for all of its digital and print products. This position works closely with senior managers and directors to ensure advertisers' needs are met, and the department operates efficiently and within budget.

Duties: Assigns, directs and monitors staff to ensure ads for digital and print products meet quality and publication standards and deadlines. Verify all electronic and/or print publications are complete and accurate before editions move to publish. This would include photo reproduction and font legibility or type conversion. Should have the technical and computer skills needed to identify and fix these types of issues. Troubleshoots and addresses any ad, equipment and/or process issues in order to ensure publication deadlines are met Monitor and record publication page flow for any print or electronic special sections or advance publications. Orders and monitors supplies and materials to ensure adequate availability. Handles and makes record of employee work schedules, including vacation time

Qualifications: Must be MAC and Windows proficient. Must have good trouble-shooting skills to identify sources of font, photo or other design issues, primarily in advertisements. Must possess strong digital skills in terms of troubleshooting Web sites, electronic page development and ad creation. Must be able to work nights or weekends. Some newspaper pre-press experience would be helpful. Previous supervisory experience preferred. College or equivalent experience preferred.
