Network Administrator
Network Administrator at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; and 48 months experience in a computer support role in a large biomedical research environment including the following: installation and maintenance of computer software and hardware including printers; configuring and maintaining internal and external network connections; website maintenance involving Drupal and WordPress, HTML/CSS, HTML5, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript and Cascade CMS; maintenance of temperature monitoring systems for tissue/cell incubators and freezers; maintaining/upgrading servers such as Windows, OSX, Linux, Apache and Kerio email system. The Network Administrator in the University’s Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute (CVRTI) is responsible for managing the network for the Institute including 100 faculty/staff/researcher accounts; maintenance of network connections; maintaining/upgrading servers; managing authentication, VPN remote access and security/backup system; maintenance of financial and personnel data bases; website maintenance; and continuous maintenance of temperature monitoring system and managing software for ultra-low temperature freezers.
