Position Description:
The Human Resources Generalist enables Operational Excellence by ensuring each employee has the knowledge and skills required of their role, and that they are fully engaged in making high quality products safely.
Functions, Duties, Tasks:
Organizational Effectiveness:
• Facilitate plant capability assessments, when required
• Establish and maintain an organizational change agenda, when required
• Document the workforce strategy for the plant
• Maintain a leadership development plan
• Maintain a diversity and inclusion plan
• Maintain a communications plan
• Maintain a learning and development plan, when required
Site Human Resources:
• Owns Occupational Health, Safety, and Medical to strive for an injury-free workplace.
• Supports site leadership efforts to provide an injury-free workplace at the Augusta Technology Center including appropriate workplace principles, and engagement with our BBS process and leadership walk-throughs
• Provides functional expertise in all areas of Human Resources, including staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and organizational development.
• Oversees the development and administration of HR policies and procedures.
• Completes compensation surveys, job and salary structure administration
• Participates in organizational planning that evaluates structure, job design, and personnel resources.
• Monitors details for health plan utilization and costs, 401k, employee insurance (life, vision and dental) and their respective providers
• Acts as a liaison with benefits, disability and legal management teams regarding employee issues.
• Develops and implements personal development programs to achieve a high performance organization.
• Manages the Affirmative Action Plan, FMLA, ADA, and EEO compliance programs.
• Develops and implements effective reward and recognition programs that facilitate the achievement of successful business results.
• Acts as coach/consultant to site people managers. Assists in resolving employee performance concerns, including disciplinary counseling, as required.
• Facilitates efforts on talent identification, succession management, and site promotion programs.
• Facilitates site activities and involvement in community relations, events, and partnerships.
• Manages strategic planning for staffing and on-boarding.
• Provides leadership to our People Leadership Council, including leadership development, coaching of others, and engagement of employees.
• Provide back up for payroll processing.
Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):
Education:
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Human Resources (preferably) or related field required.
Experience:
• Minimum of five (5) years progressive HR experience required.
• Preference given to HR experience in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
• Prior people management experience is a plus.
Additional Preferences:
• Solid understanding of HR policies/procedures, as well as local, state and federal employment laws.
