The University of Findlay (www.findlay.edu) is seeking a full-time assistant director of international recruitment, responsible for coordinating and executing international student recruitment efforts for the University of Findlay. This position will focus on assisting students through the entire application lifecycle, from the point of lead generation through to enrollment. This position will focus on communication outreach and serve as the primary individual responsible for developing and executing both direct and armchair recruitment initiatives. The Assistant Director of International Recruitment will use data to monitor trends, make strategic enrollment plans, track performance, and monitor results. As the front line of customer service for the Office of International Admissions & Student Immigration Services, this individual will maintain a high level of contact with applicants as well as their families and counselors, providing them with a high level of customer service and personal attention. He or she will have a very broad, yet thorough, understanding of the University of Findlay’s application requirements, academic programs, unique selling points, and policies. With regards to the University’s recruitment partners, this position will conduct onboarding and ongoing training, track performance, maintain regular communication, and generally manage our various recruitment partnerships. This position will represent the University of Findlay both domestically and internationally in meeting current, former, and prospective students and their families; attending education fairs; conducting visits to schools and advising centers; and hosting online recruiting events. The individual in this position will demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment while making quick decisions and speak comfortably in both planned and unplanned presentations.
A valid US Drivers’ license with a safe driving record is required, and the energy and ability to travel. A valid passport is required for this position. Extensive overseas travel experience in recruiting and/or study abroad is necessary. Some evening and weekend work, and overnight travel are expectations of this position.
A bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred, particularly in the fields of international relations / development, marketing, communications, counselling, foreign languages, or another related field. At least two years of experience in international education, particularly recruitment and admissions. Familiarity with global education systems and experience traveling independently overseas. Ability to speak a foreign language is preferred. Demonstrated excellence in public speaking skills, cross-cultural communication, attention to detail, and agility. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, student information system databases (preferably Radius), and information systems. The applicant must be receptive to use of new technologies, while also able to utilize the web and social media platforms for recruitment. Familiarity with Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) is a plus. Evidence of a strong work ethic, in and out of the traditional office setting, constantly recognizing the importance of upholding the integrity of University of Findlay both domestically and abroad. The ideal candidate will have an extremely high level of energy as well as grit, creativity, and perseverance.
