As a member of the Division of Student Life Human Resources team, the Training & Organizational Development Specialist for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will be responsible for developing an iterative organizational diversity learning plan that focuses on building the capabilities of Division of Student Life staff around diversity, equity, and inclusion. The position will function as a consultant in the organization to help maintain a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of talent acquisition, engagement, and the employee work experience, which includes policies, practices, and programs. Responsibilities include working across the division to initiate, advocate, drive and measure practices needed to foster an open and inclusive work environment.

The Division of Student Life is comprised of staff that embrace new ideas and thoughts, works together to keep our students safe, and provides them with life-changing experiences. The Division of Student Life includes 14 departments that span from Recreation Services to Student Involvement and Leadership and everything in between. We believe in working together as one team to achieve our mission: fostering student success by creating and promoting inclusive educationally purposeful services and activities within and beyond the classroom. One of our division priorities is to advance UI’s goals to recruit and retain U.S. racial/ethnic minority (URM) staff and students.

Qualifications:
Education Requirement:
- Master’s degree in organizational development or organizational psychology, or an equivalent combination of related education and related experience in training and development.
- Experience (typically 3-5 years) creating, implementing, and assessing training and organizational development programs around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strong commitment to and alignment with the values of the Division with a proven ability to build relationships and deepen connections with individuals, groups, and communities across all races, genders, sexual orientations, generations, and other identities.
- Demonstrated skills in organizational change management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize various training methodologies and curriculum development skills.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite programs.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and application of communication and presentation techniques and relationship building skills at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and display a high level of initiative and attention to detail.
- Experience handling investigations and dispute resolution.
- Experience delivering unconscious/implicit bias training.
- Demonstrated project and program management and assessment experience.
