Staff Nurse
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Radiology is seeking a Staff Nurse to assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice. Provide leadership to members of the nursing team to maintain patient care standards.
Duties Include:
Applies nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health and illness.
Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations.
Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings.
Provide pre, intra- and post procedure nursing care (assessment, monitoring, intervention and education) related to diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Assist in the collection of arterial and venous blood samples.

Educational Requirements:
An Associate degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or Master's degree in Nursing (MNHP or MSN).
Experience Requirements:
1-3 years current nursing experience in Interventional Radiology, Neuro interventional Radiology, Critical Care, and/or Emergency Treatment Care.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and limited resources.
Demonstration of strong organizational skills and time management.
Minimum 1 year of current ICU/critical care, emergency department, interventional or procedural sedation experience as a Registered Nurse.
Demonstrated competency in conscious sedation administration, patient management, recovery, and EKG interpretation.

Percent of Time: 80
Schedule: Rotating day/evening shifts between the hours of 0700-2100 accordingly, per nursing needs. Will participate in holiday rotation and on-call rotation.
