Part-Time Official Court Reporter
The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington has an opening for a Part-Time Official Court Reporter (.5 FTE) Merit and/or Real-Time Certification Preferred in Spokane, Washington
Salary Range: CR Level 1 Level 4: $39,124.5 - $44,993 (Plus transcription fees)
Depending upon Experience and Qualifications
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
- Four years of prime stenographic CAT court reporting experience in the freelance field of service, in other courts, or a combination thereof (e.g. depositions, adversary proceedings before a presiding official, grand jury proceedings);
- Successfully tested for listing on the registry of professional reporters of the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA);
- Skill in the use of computer-aided transcription equipment; and
- Possess and provide all necessary personal equipment and software.
The successful candidate should be mature, highly organized, poised, demonstrate initative, possess tact and good judgement, maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, work harmoniously with others in a team-based organization, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Candidate must be able to balance the demands of varying work load responsibilities and deadlines. Time management skills, including the ability to adjust to conflicting duties and demands with poise, tact, and equanimity, are essential.
