Assistant Director- Owens Food Court
Job Description
Manages a large university dining center under the direction of the Associate Director. Responsibilities include execution of menu plan, budget plan, personnel plan, supervision, counseling, training and personal and professional development of employees, customer relations, safety and sanitation, and the security and maintenance of building and equipment. The Assistant Director for the Owens Dining Center will oversee a multi-million-dollar ($16+ MIL) facility that includes a food court and the operation of four national franchises: Chick-fil-A, Pizza Hut, Dunkin, and Freshens. Responsible for ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for customers and employees. Directs staff and ensures that that all policies and procedures are followed. Ensures a high level of customer service at all times in the dining facility.
Required Qualifications
College or Culinary degree, or equivalent progressive professional advancement experience in Business Management, Hospitality, or Culinary management. Demonstrated strong and successful management and supervision experience in a high volume, multiple item menu, retail and/or institutional food service environment. Previous experience and working knowledge of commercial kitchen and food service operations. Experience with budget development, oversight, and reporting. Demonstrated strong interpersonal communications skills. Previous experience training staff on policies and procedures including safety. Demonstrated excellent customer services skills in a fast-paced food service environment. Previous experience in the creation, development, and delivery of special events and theme meals. Demonstrated knowledge of computers including current and recent versions of Windows operating system, Microsoft Office and productivity suites (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.). Demonstrated knowledge of automated payroll system, automated time clock systems, and automated food inventory systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Nutrition, Culinary Arts or related field preferred. ServSafe certification and HACCP certification desired. Previous experience operating national brand franchises.
