Assistant Chief of Security & Safety
Western Piedmont Community College is seeking to fill the following position:
Assistant Chief of Security & Safety
Under the direction of the Chief Security & Safety Officer, the Assistant Chief will serve as the secondary staff member responsible in the planning and management of security, safety and occupational health matters.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Perform duties of the Chief of Security in his/her absence
- Coordinate activities of security, safety, and related functions
- Plan and organize all phases of the College’s fire, safety, and security operations plan
- Conduct loss of asset investigation and reports of accidents
- Assist in development and implementation of safety goals, objectives, and training across campus
- Collect accident and injury data reports
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement, Management or Public Administration preferred.
- BLET Certified or law enforcement background preferred.
- One to three years of professional work experience in safety, security, or occupational health management required.
- Ability to plan, assign, and direct the work of others in a team environment required.
- Ability to exercise critical human relation skills.
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and state laws regarding accidents and losses of property preferred.
- Valid NC Driver’s License required.
Salary: Hiring Range – Minimum to Midpoint ($3,009 – 3,761/monthly)
