Pre-Kindergarten Teachers (10-Month, Grant-Funded Instructor Position)
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for two full-time Pre-K teachers, one for three-year-old students and one for four-year-old students, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills using State of Maryland approved curriculum.
Responsibilities include planning and preparing lessons, assignments, and instructional materials to implement curriculum used in the Wicomico County Public Schools; selecting and using appropriate instructional strategies; addressing specific educational needs of individual students; creating a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment; promoting a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning; modifying instructional methods to meet student needs, including students with special needs; establishing learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs; evaluating student progress; maintaining order and discipline in the classroom; and supervising classroom paraprofessionals and assistants.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; State of Maryland PreK-3 Early Childhood Education teaching certification (or able to obtain upon hire); knowledge of subject matter and appropriate instructional methodologies; excellent verbal and written communications skills; exemplary organizational and planning skills; and demonstrated leadership skills necessary to work effectively with students, parents and administrators.
This is a grant-funded position that includes fringe benefits. The starting salary will fall between $50,250 to $65,250, depending on qualifications and experience.
